Our big girl, SJ celebrated her 8th birthday in the heart of our hard, Level 5 lockdown in April. We were so blessed to celebrate together at home as a family of five – and we planned in advance to have a cake made and kept in the freezer, special biscuits made and her gifts bought and wrapped, hiding in the cupboard. And we had a very special day and celebration together.
As parents, we did promise that once lockdown was lifted, regulations had eased and our numbers were more under control, we would be able to host a small and intimate birthday party celebration for her and her closest friends.
When we first discussed her 8th birthday party, pre-Covid – she chose the theme of Space and it stuck. SJ has always had a keen interest in Space and our solar system, and even more so learning about it at school last year. And so we decided to have fun with the theme and the black, silver and neon colours colour scheme.
