Toy Kingdom – Ballito Junction

11 April 2017| ,

How many kids parties have you been to this year? I’ve been to FOURTEEN already – can you believe that? My girls have birthdays in April and May (and now Zoe in March too!) so the first few months of the year are always jam-packed with kids birthdays and parties. Some weekends have us attending three parties in one weekend! And with each party comes the gift of giving, something we love to do. The girls and I have great fun walking into a toy store and carefully choosing gifts that will delight each of their friends – a princess crown and klippity-kloppity heels for the girly girl, play dough and glitter pens for the creative friend, dolls and prams for the maternal friend, and superheroes and digger trucks for the busy boys.

Toy Kingdom has an amazing range of toys for kids of all ages (including a baby section with soft toys), educational and creative toys, boys and girls toys, fantasy play and dress up items, TV program favorites like Paw Patrol, Trolls, Peppa Pig and Minions, outdoor and pool toys and an impressive range of cars, bikes and scooters. There really is something for everyone…

This school holiday has been all about toy shopping as we count down the sleeps to SJ’s 5th birthday and EN’s 3rd birthday, with great excitement. With a Mom as a party planner, these girls have a love for all things birthdays – cake for breakfast, balloons, themed parties and well deserved gifts. Each of their personalities is reflected in their favorite toys and their birthday wish lists: SJ is creative and dramatic – she loves arts and crafts, paints and musical instruments and anything to make her feel like a princess (heels, tiaras and make up) and EN is imaginative and enjoys TV/Book characters – she loves the dolls and prams, Barbies, Lego and Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig figurines.

We were lucky enough to visit the brand new Toy Kingdom store in the new Ballito Junction mall this past weekend and wow, it is impressive. We were met at the door by the Toy Kingdom King toad – SJ just loved him and ran to give him the biggest hugs, EN was terrified of him and hid behind us. But entering the store soon perked her up and she was in her element – running from shelf to shelf to check out all the amazing toys, into the tree house to play and great fun at the Lego table building Lego blocks. The girls were treated to a Toy Kingdom voucher and they decided to purchase one item each for themselves and one item each to donate to our church charity – we try our best to teach that the act of giving is just as pleasurable as receiving, especially to those who don’t have toys. SJ chose a medical kit for both herself and the charity, and EN chose a doll for herself and Duplo blocks for the charity. Both girls thoroughly enjoyed exploring the store, choosing their gifts, paying with their gift card, thanking the lovely store manageress Leesha and carrying their goodies out the store.

Thank you Toy Kingdom for your kindness and generosity, and congratulations on another gorgeous store. We will be back soon!
