Taste of Durban

Zomato is a restaurant search app providing in-depth information for over a million restaurants across 22 countries. Zomato’s core content features include restaurant information such as scanned menus and photos sourced by its massive feet-on-the-street team over 500 cities. Users can rate and review restaurants, as well as create their own network of foodies for personalised recommendations. Zomato’s mobile app is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. It can be downloaded free from: zomato.com/mobile

For Taste of Durban, Zomato partnered with them to create a collection that showcased all the restaurants that served food at the event. See more information and list of restaurants here.
I was lucky enough to receive complimentary tickets to Taste of Durban, from the lovely ladies at Zomato. Despite the pouring rain on Friday evening, MC and I headed out for much needed date night and to taste the delicious meals on offer.

We enjoyed a taste from each stand (the crispy calamari from Beluga was my best!), were treated to live DJ’s from East Coast Radio, and tasty cocktails from various bars/lounges. There were different stands selling products from cupcakes and treats, biltong, Banting bakery and buffalo cheeses. We treated ourselves to the delicious dessert of Wicked Donuts – the Nutella mini donut is amazing! There were also two master classes available – a mixology master class to learn how to mix cocktails and a burger master class to make different burgers. Unfortunately, we skipped those due to time and the pouring rain but had a wonderful evening.
