Life has been a little crazy for everyone recently so after a long term of school, the Winter holidays crept up on us. We don’t normally go away much in our Winter break, except maybe a short trip to the Midlands but we normally enjoy the Durban sunshine and make the most of our local tourist spots and activities with our girls – in previous years, I’ve even put together a daily activity itinerary.
But with our third wave predicted for our school holidays, we decided to just lay low… Until one evening, I saw someone advertise their one week timeshare in the Drakensberg, and I got a bee in my bonnet and booked it.
And it was the best, impulsive decision I have made in ages. We got to spend six days of uninterrupted and much needed family time together, with being in our own chalet and only food takeaways available at the resort so we were super safe from any virus exposure. We spent our days being outdoors in the fresh mountain air, one on one time with our girls, board game fun, building fires and making dinners together, riding bikes, playing putt putt and tennis, picnic lunches, hikes and baking. It was so special – and just what the doctor ordered.
Such sweet pictures of your darling family! And your hair looks especially beautiful!
Aw thank you Ash – the joys of a good blow wave x
