Breast Cancer Luncheon: The Pencil Club

16 November 2020|

October is pink month.

A month that we get to raise awareness and celebrate breast cancer awareness month in South Africa. Last year, we hosted a Cuppa for Cansa tea (and another Cuppa for Cansa tea in 2015),in support of breast cancer awareness, and we raised money to donate to our local CANSA. What a gift to honour all the incredible warrior women we know that have battled this terrible illness, and being able to help and contribute in some small way.

This year, I was invited to join a ladies luncheon in support of breast cancer awareness hosted by Lorna Gourlay and The Pencil Club at The Umhlanga Arch. The Pencil Club is Durban’s first private members club, set on the 24th floor of the iconic Umhlanga Arch development. You can watch the inspiring video about the new club below:

The incredibly beautiful event, adorned with all the shades of pink and the chatter and laughter of so many wonderful women. We were treated to welcome bubbles on The Umhlanga Arch high street and then a delicious three course meal of flavour sensations, informative talks and videos from The Pencil founders, Estee Lauder and Carrol Boyes representatives and treated to an amazing goodie bag – I was even lucky enough to win ‘best dressed’ in my bright pink and won an additional goodie bag of luxurious spoils. What a privilege to be invited, included and spoilt at such an event.
