It’s been a while since I have been excited about a Friday – what is the weekend when you are a stay-at-home-mom?! But this weekend is our first without the craziness of the previous weeks, the first weekend that I feel I may have my s%^t together!
And what better way to celebrate Five on Friday than a sneak peek at our big girl SJ turning FIVE!
One || Celebrations in Bed. We have made our own fun birthday traditions and this includes cake, balloons and presents in bed the morning of your birthday. We love this time together – laughter and excitement as we all sing Happy Birthday and blow out candles before opening presents and eating cake for breakfast.
Two || Birthday Gift. I have been begging MC for a play house for our girls for years. And after endless playdates of SJ and EN spending hours in their friends play houses, he decided this would be a valuable purchase. We chose this cute play house with balcony, windows and flower boxes and we got the cutest min furniture for inside too. Needless to say, we had one VERY HAPPY birthday girl in the morning (we managed to hide it from her the day before when it was delivered).
Three || Birthday Dinner. Another one of our family traditions is to go for dinner and the girls favorite restaurant, Spur during their birthday week. They love the food, the play area and the excitement of all the waiters singing Happy Birthday to them with a sparkler in their ice cream. Always great fun!
Four || Birthday Party. SJ is just like her mama and loves a party. She has been counting down the sleeps to her party for weeks. She also chose her theme this year and helped me decide on the activities and party treats. Full update posts to follow.
Five || Birthday Ring. The last of SJ’s birthday celebrations were this morning at her birthday ring at school. I love that we get to join in on this ring and see SJ in her classroom and interacting with her teacher and friends. The class did some cute learning activities for us, sang songs and then sang Happy Birthday to SJ before we treated them with delicious donuts.
Don’t forget to link up with Christina, April, Natasha and Karli.

I adore those morning birthday traditions! And gah, that playhouse! Can that be my house?!
Haha, I know! I dreamt of a house like this when I was little x
The bed celebrations is something I would love to do, sounds like the perfect start to ones birthday.
