Book Review: The Widow

27 February 2017|

Title: The Widow

Author: Fiona Barton

Genre: Suspense Thriller

Main Characters:

  • Jean Taylor – lead female
  • Glen Taylor – Jean’s husband and accused
  • Bella – child who has been kidnapped

Summary:

There is a lot Jean hasn’t said over the years about the crime her husband was suspected of committing. She was too busy being the perfect wife, standing by her man while living with the accusing glares and the anonymous harassment. Now her husband is dead, and there’s no reason to stay quiet. There are people who want to hear her story. She can tell them there were secrets. There always are in marriage.

Verdict:

There were twists and turns in every chapter of this book and I couldn’t put it down until I knew what was going on around the next corner. I struggled with the intensity of child abuse in the book being a Mom myself and the lies and deceit in a marriage – something I obviously don’t accept or stand for.

Have you read it? what did you think?

Any other good book recommendations?
