And the final post in the hometown series is none other than…
ME
I couldn’t really go a whole series without including my beautiful home town. And I’m hoping that by the end of this post, you will all want to come and visit me SOON SOON!
What is your hometown?
Sunny and friendly Durban, KZN.
Where is your hometown?
On the east coast of South Africa.

What does your house look like?
Funny question this because we are currently homeless. We are in the process of building our new home and it will only be completed in November this year. We sold our previous home which you can read all about , and for the next few months we are living with my parents-in-law.

Where do you work and what do you do?
I am a stay-at-home-mom, and I spend most of my day at home with our little SJ who is 15 months old. I am a qualified teacher and I often locum at a local school when teachers are sick or away.
What are your favourite hometown hobbies and activities?
It is no secret that I love my city, and there is no place like home. I believe that nowhere is perfect in the world and the grass is only greener where you water it. Being in the coast, Durban is known for it’s beaches and warm weather all year round.
A few of our favourite things to do in Durban are:
- Ride bicycles along the beach front.
- Walk along our promenade.
- Cocktails with a view at a local hotel.
- Visit our local markets.
- Getaways to the Drakensberg mountains.
- Getaways to Safari lodges.

Amazing! I need to plan our next big trip to South Africa!
I love your Durban 🙂 I've only ever been to Durban for work and am realising there is a lot more to the city than I ever expected
Hope to join you for cocktails at the Oyster Box one day!
I'm not really sure how I stumbled on your blog…I read it hoping to see pictures of Durban (which is my hometown) and I loved all the pictures you posted today! I am currently living in Miami, so any reminder of home always feels so great:)
