A new year and fresh start is very ME! I say it every year – I live for Mondays, 1st of the month and a new year… and although we are already halfway through February, rather late than never!
I actually put my 2026 vision board together in the first week of January when we were still on holiday and haven’t got round to putting my thoughts to keyboard just yet… and finally, the term is starting to settle (jokes on me because the 1st term is nearly over!)
Last year was A LOT – it was busy and chaotic and very fast-paced. And my reality is that most years in the next few are going to look much the same. So I need to learn to embrace the chaos, manage the busy as best we can and live each day. This year is logistically hectic for us as we have children in all four phases of school life: pre-school, junior primary, senior primary and high school – so very little aligns throughout this year. BUT we can be very grateful that after a full month into the school year, we have fine happy children who all dived straight into their new years and classes with smiles on their faces and happy hearts, and they are thriving. And I couldn’t ask for more as a mom.
And so my vision for 2026: focus on me and our immediate family unit, be selfish in that time and focus, and learn that we cannot slow life down but we can stop to enjoy and live in each moment. Return to who God has intended me to be.
My word for the year is: RETURN.
Return to who I am, who I love and what I value. Return to Jesus and my deep faith and heart for our Lord. Return to my best version as a wife and for our marriage. Return to my reason and purpose as a mom and being with my babies. Return to caring for my aging skin and increase the fitness levels in my body. Return to welcoming faith-filled, God-breathed friendships around our tables and breathing in the fresh air and beauty of our coastline and sunrise and sunset.
What are your goals, word or vision for 2025?
