Last year, a sweet friend who had started working with one of our favourite brands, reached out to work on a collab together. When I started blogging, it was to share my love of writing and an ‘online diary’, and it was years and years before the recent concept of an influencer. So when I am approached by brands, I tend to shy away from the idea…

But this, this caught my attention straight away. The brief: bookclub babes, bubbly and Batela jackets. How could I say no? All I had to do was call up our bookclub girls, invite them over for an afternoon of champagne and cheeseboard, and introduce them to the wonder and magic of the Batela brand. Easy, and done.

A few years ago, I was introduced to this amazing brand and did a little home photo shoot with our girls in their cute, yellow rain jackets and navy wellies. We were trying to wait for a rainy day and when one didn’t come, we just faked it with the hose pipe – and they had so much fun! And I purchased my first Batela jacket then too. Since then, I bought two jackets for MC’s birthdays, and a few friends too. After our bookclub shoot, I was very kindly gifted a new coral jacket (my fave colour!) and I am showered with compliments whenever I wear it. And a few Batela items are on our Christmas list too.
