So next week, our precious baby boys turn TWO!! And because I am so behind on blog posts, I haven’t even shared their first birthday party yet… so here it is.
Our very first year choosing a boy party theme and to be honest, we didn’t know where to start. We didn’t want anything too wild or boyish but rather something soft and cute to suit little baby boys. One night at dinner, as we were discussing themes with the big sisters, one of them came up with: Peter Rabbit and that was that.
We absolutely loved out pastel blue Peter Rabbit theme with the little touches of bunnies and farmyard, all the boy colours and theme with still being soft and gentle for our little baby boys. We used fresh flowers and fresh carrots for our little bunnies, hay bales and grass patches, buckets of treats and little white picket fences – the sweetest little Mr McGregor’s Garden. We had a good giggle with putting the guest list together, they have a whole four friends (haha!) – and each of these friends is somehow linked to their sisters: both their Grade R teachers sons, and two of their school friends brothers. Just love it!
The best part of this party: The Play Hive and all its magic. Christy and her incredible team check in with your theme and colour scheme, and then arrive with all their goodies for an out of this world experience for the kiddies. We chose the messy play option (rice, pasta, foam, water soil etc) for the baby guests and the painting and baking option (icing biscuits and painting canvas pictures) for the older kids. I was truly blown away at their set up – all the matching colours, the bunnies, the farmyard touches – it was incredible! And all the messy play is edible so the babies can really get stuck in (to the flour, spaghetti and play dough!) How cute are all the bunny shapes?
Our party packs were a mix of orange bubbles that looked like bunny carrots and some sensory, messy play rice and play dough from The Play Hive too.
