Winter Holiday Bucket List

24 July 2017| ,

I am going to be totally honest here – if you had asked me on Friday, 23rd June if I was excited about the four week Winter school holiday that lay ahead… My answer would have been a BIG FAT NO! Four weeks of having three littles at home to entertain, on my own, 24/7 for the first time?! Yikes!

But now, a whole month later (and having survived the four weeks), I have a warm heart, a full love tank, quality time with my girls and memories to last a lifetime. We had so much fun! The A-type in my typed up a Winter Holiday bucket list, invited our friends to join us and every day, we set out to enjoy a new activity. It kept the girls busy, my routine-driven mind sane and allowed us to still have some structure.

Winter Holiday Bucket List

Learning, painting and craft fun

Trips to the library to choose and read books

Lunch dates with Mommy

Baking biscuit flowers

Pamper time and manicures at La Belle Vie salon

Exploring our Durban city at Mini Town

Animal farm fun and feeding animals at Flag Animal Farm

Learning to ice skate with a seal and Mom

Play area fun at Funky Monkey

Play date at home with friends – baking cupcakes, hotdog picnics and silly faces

Magical Disney on Ice show with Frozen, Lion King and The Little Mermaid characters

Roald Dahl’s James & the Giant Peach theatre production

Trampoline fun at The Jump Park, playground and riding bikes at Sugar Rush Park

Haircuts and trims before back to school

3D movies to watch Despicable Me 3

Family getaway in the Drakensberg mountains

Visiting the Ushaka aquarium and watching dolphin shows

Pizza dates and sleepovers with our favorite Fourie friends

Parties and park dates for lots of fun!

Today, we head back to school, back to gym, back to routine, less play dates, less TV, less sugar, healthier food and a lot more sleep. And we are actually all ready for it…

What did you get up to this Winter or Summer holiday?
