Pregnancy Update: 24 Weeks

19 December 2016| ,

24weeks
How far along? 24 weeks.

Baby size: Baby is the size of a mielie/corn, 30cm long.

Weight gain: Still no weight gain from my initial weight – thanks to the dreaded Hyperemesis Gravidarum (severe morning sickness!). But slowly putting the lost weight back on…

Maternity clothes: Not yet…

Stretch marks: No new marks (a few from previous pregnancies)

Sleep: I am finally back to regular sleeping – no more insomnia!

Gender: It’s a GIRL!

Best moment this week: Enjoying holiday time in the sun and pool with our girls – great way to get some Vitamin D for baby, tanning the bump and keeping cool in the water.

Looking forward to: Christmas – such a happy time of year!

What I miss: Feeling 100% normal – I had another bad bout of morning sickness last week and I am still not my usual energetic and hungry self.

Movement: Lots – this baby girl is busy!

Food cravings: Greek salad – now that I can eat again, I am loving raw veg in a salad with feta cheese. And Coke to drink…

Anything making you queasy or sick: Last week, all food made me sick again! But mainly cooked vegetables and protein.

Labour signs: I’ve had one dose of Braxton Hicks last week.

Symptoms: Relatively normal again – not all day sickness, not too tired and not yet uncomfortable. Trying to enjoy it now.

Belly button in or out: In

Weddings rings on or off: On.

Mood: Content. Counting my blessings every day after a rough few months. It often amazes me how we take our health for granted each day.

Nursery: Not yet – in the new year…

Workouts: I have been to gym once since June and probably won’t be back this pregnancy. Time to take it easy…
