Blogtember: 30 September

30th Sep 2013

30 September
Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has personal history for you, that was passed down to you, and that has special meaning to you. Tell us about it and why it’s special.

My engagement ring diamond
The actual ring isn’t that old. Almost 4 years old actually.
But the diamond inside the ring… That is old.

This gorgeous 1ct diamond belonged to MC’s paternal grandmother. She had it set down into a gold band ring and it was beautiful on her frail fingers, but we were shocked at the beauty of this diamond being set up into an open, higher setting. The diamond really stands out.

When MC proposed, he proposed with a temporary ring as apparently, I am really fussy and he wouldn’t to choose my own dream ring. We searched for the perfect diamond and the perfect setting. Just as we found the perfect setting, my MIL offered MC his grandmother’s diamond (she passed away 4 months before we got engaged). We knew right away that we would love to be blessed with this special ring and family heirloom.

And I wear it with pride on my wedding finger every day.
Thank you Granny Joyce for this piece of old, this piece of you.
