Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Shoot

Back in 2009 when we got engaged, engagement shoots and photographs weren’t very popular.
The craze hadn’t quite hit the wedding scene yet and boys weren’t too keen to get in front of the lens and pose for formal pictures.

MC laughed at me when I suggested it.
Absolutely no way!
But I promised it was just to get a few shots to use for our wedding stationery and we would use our wonderful family friend Heather Fitchet as our photographer, and it would be quick and easy.

Thank goodness for me, Heather pulled out all the shots (excuse the pun!) to make it quick and easy. In fact, she shot for a whole 25 minutes before wrapping it up and she made us feel so comfortable and natural around her and her big camera lens. It was also a great introduction for MC and is it put him at ease about our wedding shots – he isn’t one for keeping guests waiting hours while you try and get the perfect shot!

These pictures are a sweet memory of those first days as a fiancé and the excitement of planning a wedding (and how skinny I was too!)

Enjoy x

Really? You making me pose? Haha

Haha, making jokes!!

Love my engagement ring in this one

Sweet kisses x

In the arms of my knight in shining armour

We had this one printed on canvas for our wedding messages

A captured moment – we were looking through a gate behind us…
Having so much fun together!
