1. Tell us what you studied in college. Is your job now related to what you studied?
At university, I studied a BA (Bachelor of Arts) and I majored in English and Communications. I then went on to work in the magazine industry and then for an events and advertising agency. These were both related to my degree as my Communications subjects centered around Public Relations and Advertising.
Last year, I decided to study further and studied a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education – Intermediate Phase). This adds on to my original degree as a fourth year and allows me to teach Grades 4 – 9.
2. Tell us what your everyday job looks like.
I am now a qualified teacher but I fell pregnant as soon as I qualified so I haven’t worked as a teacher full-time. I am now a stay-at-home mom to our little SJ but I do locum teach on the odd days.
3. Do you have a picture of you at work? Show us.
4. In 10 years, what do you see yourself doing? Same thing? More? Tell us.
In 10 years time, I hope to have another two little kiddies so I will more than likely be a super busy stay-at-home mom – which is by far my most favourite job choice.
5. Tell us what you have learned, and what {if any} recommendations you may have for those looking to go into the field you are in.
I’m going to share my wisdom for both a stay-at-home mom and a teacher. First up, being a stay-at-home is not glamourous. Please don’t be fooled into thinking that this is easy and a lot better than going to work. It is hard work! But if that is what you love and what you are passionate about then it is the best job ever! i absolutely adore spending all day with my little SJ, but I also need a time out… often!
Being a teacher is amazing, but again your heart has to be in it! you have to love children – even the whiny, bratty and misbehaved ones because they aren’t all cute angels. Teaching is also not a half day job, it is hard work! There is plenty of preparation and marking as well as extra activities and sport that is involved and this is all done after hours.

i love the term 'fell pregnant' he he …
and you're oh so right about teaching… you really really really have to love what you do and in no way is it a part time job or even a 9-5 job
My MIL is a teacher and I know she works so hard! She teaches Grade 0's and is exhausted when she gets home.
Such a lovely picture!
Cute! I love this picture!
